Ladies and Gentlemen, My Fellow Patriots, and Texans, All:

We’ve got new marching orders from Campaign for Liberty.

Ron Paul’s Audit the Fed bill, HR 1207, is suddenly up to 92 cosponsors and Campaign for Liberty believes a full-court press would help get us past the “100″ mark.   On Tuesday, April 28, the petitions that we signed electronically on the C4L website will be delivered to our representatives by C4L volunteers in Washington.

The same day, the Campaign wants us to deliver as many signed petitions as possible from our friends and neighbors to the district offices of the representatives who have not yet cosponsored the bill.

Here’s what you need to do:
* Print out petitions from the Campaign for Liberty website.

* Collect as many signatures as possible through Monday.  Take petitions to the parking lots of large stores in the district, to local gatherings, to popular parks, or door-to-door.

* Personally deliver your signed petitions to your representative’s local office on Tuesday.   Campaign for Liberty’s Texas state page has a listing of the local office addresses. Have a friend document the delivery on video if possible. Even a small handful of petitions, personally delivered, will have a HUGE impact.

* If you can, upload the video to YouTube and post an entry on your Campaign for Liberty blog!

For those of you lucky enough to live in a district with a cosponsor, take a fruit basket or cookies or flowers to their local offices on Tuesday and THANK THEM for their cosponsorship of HR 1207!  Meanwhile, help a district without a cosponsor to collect signatures!

Tuesday won’t be the last day we do this. The following month we will collect even more signatures to deliver. And then the next month, and the month after, until they cosponsor HR 1207.

Then they get the fruit basket!

Special recognition will be owed to districts whose representatives are members of the House Financial Services Committee. Double gold stars could be awarded to districts whose representatives are Democratic members of the Financial Services Committee!

Yes, this is a massive undertaking. It will take every ounce of strength we can muster. But we have moved mountains before, and we will move many more before we can rest, secure in our liberty.
Let’s do this!

Debra Medina

Sewing Project post #2

Pinning together the front and back of my project – this is one of the most tedious parts in my opinion.

sdc15518

Sewing it together – finally!   I actually enjoyed this part a lot.  I have some experience with sewing things together, but not with cutting them out or the pattern parts.

Can you guess what I made? Leave a comment.  I will reveal the answer later this week.  Or you can guess here.

We MUST make the most of this opportunity by EVERYONE making a quick phone call to our Congressional Representatives to show our support for this all too important piece of legislation.
We need to step up and give the situation all of our attention NOW.

Spring Cleaning – The girls room rearranged

On Tuesday, we girls decided that it was time to rearrange our room.  We needed more floor space for the kids to play since we were going to be moving the school room into their play area.

”So… where should we place the bunk-beds?”  Trying to decide which wall and way to put the beds.  We finally made a decision that suited all parties involved. ;)

“That’s more like it.”  We chose the East wall because it has no windows or doors.   We have a total of  openings for doors or windows in our room which makes it a little hard to arrange the furniture sometimes.

Goofing off – I was in “charge” of the layout and design for our room, I enjoy interior decoration and the like.  I had some fantastic helpers (Dad, Caleb, Phoebe & Johanna).

An exasperated Caleb asks “why is Johanna taking pictures right now when we need her help?!”   Hey!  We did need pictures of this “momentous event!”

Ya’ like our new room?  We all love it a lot and it is working out fabulously. :)

Tada!!!  The finished product.   We can open our windows a lot easier and even have a place to sit by the window since I moved my rocking chair in there.  It feels very homey and comfortable… I like it!!

Congressional Session

With the 111 congress’s first session in its last few weeks, it is more important than ever that our Representatives hear it from their constituency.

There are several important pieces of legislation that are being considered and yes, even pushed through the house at this time.  For a wonderful break down of what legislation is being debated and voted on you should check out Thomas.gov which is the Library of congress on the web.  There you will find all of the most up to date info on what the congress is discussing.  I would also commend to you the Point of View website.  They have many helpful and informative articles daily that help to break down the issues.

Here are a couple of very important bills being considered at this time.  Please take action and call your Representative and let your voice be heard!!!

Yom HaShoah

120px-israelisuperflag1

Yom HaShoah is the annual day to remember the slain six million Jews who perished under the crush of the Third Reich. This year the date falls on April 21. More than Jews perished. Hitler wanted to do away with his enemies and anyone who didn’t have blue eyes and blond hair. During the Carter administration, America officially recognized this important day as well. Many non-Jews attend memorial services in their area.

It is important for Christians to celebrate and mourn with the Jewish people.   Genesis makes it very clear that the Jews are His chosen people, therefore we must stand with them.

Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”  (Gen. 12:1-3)

14 The Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him, “Lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward, 15 for all the land that you see I will give to you and to your offspring forever. 16 I will make your offspring as the dust of the earth, so that if one can count the dust of the earth, your offspring also can be counted. 17 Arise, walk through the length and the breadth of the land, for I will give it to you.” 18 So Abram moved his tent and came and settled by the oaks of Mamre, which are at Hebron, and there he built an altar to the Lord.”  (Gen. 13:14-18)
After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: “Fear not, Abram, I am your shield; your reward shall be very great.” And behold, the word of the Lord came to him: “This man shall not be your heir; your very own son shall be your heir.” And he brought him outside and said, “Look toward heaven, and number the stars, if you are able to number them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” And he believed the Lord, and he counted it to him as righteousness. 12 As the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell on Abram. And behold, dreadful and great darkness fell upon him. 13 Then the Lord said to Abram, “Know for certain that your offspring will be sojourners in a land that is not theirs and will be servants there, and they will be afflicted for four hundred years. 14 But I will bring judgment on the nation that they serve, and afterward they shall come out with great possessions.” (Gen. 15:1, 4-6, 12-16)

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he went to live in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise. 10 For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God. 11 By faith Sarah herself received power to conceive, even when she was past the age, since she considered him faithful who had promised. 12 Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born descendants as many as the stars of heaven and as many as the innumerable grains of sand by the seashore.”  (Hebrews 11: 8-12)

Let us remember to “pray for the peace of Jerusalem” on this and every day, as Jews around the globe remember the horrors of WWII and the Nazi regime.

A darling baby boy!

Some friends of ours just welcomed into this world a new little grandson.  His parents named him Noah John and he is SOOOOOOO cute!   His fine black hair glistened in the light as I held this precious little bundle from God.  What a fine little man he is.

sdc15338His big brother Bear (a nickname), is also very adorable and manly even though he is only 15 months old!  I am so glad that we know them and that they are some of our newest friends. :)

Thoughts for the day
April 20, 2009, 8:27 am

4:1 What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you? Is it not this, that your passions are at war within you? You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have, because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions. You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you suppose it is to no purpose that the Scripture says, “He yearns jealously over the spirit that he has made to dwell in us”? But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.  – James 4:1-10
