Upclose – card 1
Finished products – 3 cards thus far.
I have enjoyed making cards to send to friends and family for a long time. This year I am trying something a little different. I took a couple of pictures to show my completed work.

Joel, chillin’ with his favorite lap-top before breakfast
Good morning!
Cheese! Rachel enjoys her breakfast.
After a short night of rest, we got up and were treated to a delicious breakfast made by Grandma. Biscuits, eggs, juice, milk and pancakes with jam :)
Then we bagan the process of cleaning up “lose-ends” and straightening the house. Those of us who were still in our pj’s showered and changed into our day cloths.
Uncle Jim and Joel outside of DFW airport Terminal 14. Joel had to hit the road soon after this shot, he had to be at his work by 12:15.
Here we are in the Delta international flights line. I snapped a few corky pictures.
Rowena was all smiles and got really goofy as the day went on. Seriously Junior High!
We ended up having to rearriange things in UJ’s suitcases, so that the weight would be considerably less than it was. Everything turned out great, and his bags were soon checked in, and on their way to the plane.
l-r Rachel, Grandma, Uncle Jim & sandwichedbetwixt Rachel and UJ is Rowena! SMILE!
We sat around and enjoyed each other’s company while we waited for Uncle Jimmy’s flight to be called, that was about 45 minutes which gave us a considerable amount of time with him and we took advantage. Of course it is always sad to see him go…. He’ll be back in March (Lord willing) and this time he will be bringing Aunt Naomi! CHEERS!
After we had seen him through security, and left, it was getting close to lunch time, so Grandma said that we might as well just go out to eat. We stopped by a Wendy’s and enjoyed some hamburgers and a couple of us enjoyed a delicious baked potato with chives and sour-cream. Then we loaded up and headed back to Grandpa and Grandma’s house. Us girls assisted Grandma in cleaning out some of the clutter that piles up when you work 14 hours a day as a teacher (that’s what Grandma does). We made really great progress, and the dining/kitchen was looking good. I cleaned off most of the bar area, and then we went outside to rake some leaves that Rowena had started to clean up. That job took us about an hour, and then we came back inside and “chilled” for a little bit in which Rachel and I just lounged around and Grandma hunted up some left-overs for a mid-afternoon snack.
We had pizza, vegetables, bread, and some rice (I think) for dinner. It was all really good together (not the pizza of course, but the others) and then we cleaned up and I grabbed my things essential for a cool night in Texas (sweater, and also my purse, sunglasses, and notebook) and Rachel & Rowena got their things gathered and loaded them up. After everyone and everything was safely in the vehicle, we headed off for Plano to meet Joel at his work. We took an accidential “wild-gooese chase” but we finally got on the right track and headed North towards Plano and Joel who awaited our arrival. About 15 minutes into our drive, Grandma’s cell rang, it was Joel saying that he wanted to meet us at a different store, in Richardson.
Once my things were firmly placed in our car, we trotted off to look around Natural Grocers (which Joel frequents frequently
). Since Grandma, Rachel and Rowena had never been there, we showed them around, and did a little shopping ourselves before bidding our loved ones “adieu” for this time. Joel and I did a bit more shopping at a couple of other stores before calling it a night and racing home to a million chores, little hands reaching for hugs, and being smothered by kisses and questions about our time away. It was really good to be back home.
The End.
